Wine Tasting : Rochester Road Mount Riley Riesling Wine 2003(New Zealand)

The bunch of us (KT, J.Lim, Gracie and us) went to check out the new happening place at Rochester Park. The place is also featured in today’s Sunday Plus. It is really quite crowded for such a obscure location. We could not get a place at One Rochester and so we went to Dao Paolo Bistro Bar. The place was with a theme safari concept with even some “ang mo” models dressed up in safari gear. The wine was considerably more expensive than Dempsey road at $68 per bottle before taxes, and the Italian cheese plate which you see KT posing with was $18 with a few slices of cheese (though they were very nice and unique). But the breadsticks were soft and soggy.

Smell : Intensely aromatic exhibiting flora and line aromas

Taste : Soft and long with a hint of sweetness to balance out the acidity.
Though personally we felt that the wine became more bitter as we were finishing the bottle.

Hi, we were just at Da Paolo's Rochester Park last night for wine, cheese and dessert too. I have to say we're pretty impressed with the house red. And for the cheese platter, we were recommended a "sweet" red, medium bodied for about $68 (exclude tax). It was pretty good but I didn't find the cheese selection that superb....

Yes, there is a Greek Wine called Oyzo..I think it is more of a liquor like sake then grape wine..
I only deal with the pure aristocrate wines..
