Wine Entry : Chateau Combet La Roche MonBazillac 2002 (French)

Believe that this wine is also from Carrefour, it’s a MonBazillac wine which is in the same style as the Sauternes wines that are so renowned. However, I felt it was somewhat lacking the finesse and class that Sauternes wines have. Could be money better spent in getting the Sauternes, but this is the first MonBazillac wine I have tasted, it’s quite rare to get it here, maybe others are better?
Smell : Light, slightly sweet, flora nectar, greenish.
Taste : Light tangerine, not overpowering sweet, bitterness lingers with a scent of reminiscence of kerosene.
After-taste : Quick finish, strong orange peel after-taste.
