-
A zoologist in central Kazakhstan has confirmed what many people already suspected. Red wine is good for you. Ms Svetlana Pilyuk, the chief animal specialist at Karaganda zoo in central Kazakhstan says that she feeds red wine to her monkeys to help ward off winter colds.
Karaganda is one of the coldest places on earth in winter with temperatures regularly hitting -30 degC. The monkeys though live inside where temperatures are closer to 27 degC.
But not all the monkeys are allowed a daily ration of wine. Pregnant and baby monkeys are barred from it, says Ms Pilyuk said.
