Napa Valley Aquinos Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 (USA California)

Knowing I am such a wine buff, my USA colleague got this bottle of wine for me. I haven't seen it around in Singapore yet. In the glass it is an impressively dark, inky purple.

Smell : Alcohol driven with a large bouquet.

Taste : Gamey, leathery and animalistic in nature.

After taste : Nice smooth finish with silky tannins.

Mosel St Urbans-hof Riesling 2007 (German)

Nice light refreshing German Riesling eaten with a thick dense chocolate cake.

Smell : Citrus, flora rose.

Taste : Refreshing sweetness not overly coy. Followed by citrus acidity.

After-taste : Solid structure of acidity for aging.

La Chapelle der Lafaurie Petraguey Sauternes 2002 (French)

Purchased this wine from Cold Storage at S$ 46.95 and had it for the Chinese New Year reunion dinner.

Smell : Orange peel, spicy and woody scents

Taste : Orange, jammy with mild sweetness. Interesting even with a nonya kueh flavour.

After taste: Finishes with an awakard bitter orange peel zest
